Postmodernism: A general and wide-ranging term which is applied to literature, art, philosophy, architecture, fiction, and cultural and literary criticism, among others. Postmodernism is largely a reaction to the assumed certainty of scientific, or objective, efforts to explain reality. (www.pbs.org/faithandreason/gengloss/postm-body.html)
The world is falling apart as we speak. Global warming, incomprehensible politics, and all sorts of nonsense that we have now accepted as daily life. I might as well write and tell stories to pass the time…
Welcome to my blog!
I had started a couple of similar creative endeavors years ago, but I had neither the motivation, nor the time to make the constant updates on my progress. Well, that was what I told myself as I was barely discovering my writing abilities. Now, as I start my writing career, I am dedication my passions to my novels, short stories, and my poetry.
The work I post here are largely first drafts, as I intend to use this blog as my draft board to test out my ideas. So, please forgive me if they are terrible. Depending on reactions or my own tastes, some of the works I post here may see future revisions and publication, others will not be seen beyond this site. Along with my drafts, I will also post of my thoughts of the material I cam across while researching for my upcoming stories. I am currently working on my very first full length novel, and I hope to have it published within the next couple years. My works of fiction and poetry contain aspects of black humor, pastiche, historiographic metafiction, paranoia, minimalism, and nihilism. Don’t fret, I take influence from historical fiction, literary fiction, suspense, gothic, and even some magical realism (thank you South America). As my authorship expands, I expect some academics combust in reaction to how amazing or horrible my works are. As my favorite artist H.R. Giger says, “I’d rather have people hate or feel disgusted by my work than for no one to have seen them.”
